At first, the alien roster was mostly normal (except for Overflow, who was essentially a rip-off of Waterhazard from Ultimate Alien).despite being made by Man of Action, the creators of the original Ben 10. The main problem with these seasons is that they have a very poor grasp of source material.
The worst ben 10 omniverse series#
The series had its world premiere in Australia, New Zealand and Asia-Pacific on October 1, 2016, premiered in the United States on Apand ended on Apafter three more forty-four minute specials. Overall, I find Ultimate Alien to be the weakest series overall.Ben 10 is an American animated superhero television series and a reboot of the Cartoon Network original series of the same name. There were only around 8 ultimate forms in the runtime of the show, making this concept feel like a wasted opportunity.

Although some of the redesigns and abilities were excellent, some of them turned out to be merely throwaway ultimate transformations. Ultimate Alien, although seeming like a new take on Alien Force's new world, proved to be more of the same, and it not only kept the narrative, continuity and characterisation problems of Alien Force Season 3, but it also did not take advantage of the abilities introduced by the selling point of this series- the Ultimatrix. The more I appreciated the series for what it was, the more it began to gradually grow on me. However, as I judged the show on its own merit, I began to appreciate the clever writing, solid voice acting, excellent animation quality and new ideas to keep the Reboot fresh and interesting. The less engaging narrative and lack of action was, at first, a disappointment. The art style, although extremely vibrant and colourful, had obviously been tweaked to suit the newer audiences, and the focus on slapstick comedy instead of the traditional action initially seemed like a slap in the face for a returning fan like me.

The Reboot took rather a lot more getting used to than with Alien Force. The art style suited the new series well, and although the quality began to take a decline by Season 3 of this series, it was still a solid contender to its contemporaries at the time. Even when some aliens had elements of previous aliens, they had enough new abilities of their own as to not feel rehashed. The new aliens were interesting and unique. Unlike Omniverse, Alien Force mostly formed new ideas of its own. Combined with an insanely likeable sidekick and varied, creative ways that combat could be played out, this series is, at least for myself, a very watchable one.Īlien Force brought us 10 new aliens and a more level-headed, capable Ben. The worlds and concepts explored during this series genuinely sparked interest, and a mix of old and new made this series work surprisingly well. Next comes Omniverse- although the art style was initially a reason for me to dislike this series, I soon grew to rather like the more colourful art direction and the smoother animation, both during combat and slice-of-life moments. Looking at things with an objective mindset, this series was the strongest. The original series hit a near-perfect blend of spectacle and storytelling, with a relatively grounded plot, a strong art style and animation, memorable characters and not too much irrelevant material. I really, really don't want to be "that guy", but I'd rank it like this- from the top (best) to the bottom (worst) 1.) Original Series 2.) Omniverse 3.) Alien Force 4.) Reboot 5.) Ultimate Alien
